Linker for Activation of Tcells family member 1

The spatio-temporal organization of receptors and other molecules in the plasma membrane of T cell membrane is achieved by interaction of T cell activation receptor (TCR) and Linker of activated T cells (LAT).  It is shown that these two proteins are expressed on separate protein islands and concatenate during activation (1). LAT is also a component of TCR signalosome , which also contain, phospholipase C-1 gama, c-Cbl/Cbl-b, Sprouty 1 and HPK1 (2).

Linker of activated T cell (LAT) protein is phospho-protein encoded by LAT gene. It is predominantly found in lipid rafts and act as a docking site for protein containing SH2- domain.  LAT protein plays significant role in signal transduction pathway via phosphorylation by ZAP70/SYK pathway and activating the T cell antigen receptor.  It also takes active part in natural killer cell activation via low affinity immunoglobulin gamma Fc region receptor III (FCGR3)-mediated signaling.  Other functions of LAT protein are mast cell signaling, MAPK and PKC activation.  LAT is a trans-membrane type protein predominantly expressed on Natural killer cell and T cells. Lack of this protein hinders the development of T cell at CD4+, CD8+ stages.  The LAT phosphorylation is inhibited by Sprouty 1 (2).  LAT protein is expressed in two forms, long form (38kDa and small form 36kDa).

LAT antibodies are affinity purified over immobilized antigen based chromatography, and the purified immunoglobulins are stabilized in antibody stabilization buffer. FabGennix Int.
